Fountains can be wonderful additions to a home. The right fountain in the right place can enhance your home décor in a truly lovely fashion and provide you with visual and audible delights quite unlike just about anything else. A well placed (and the right kind of) fountain can give you wonderfully soothing sounds, either throughout the day or evening or intermittently, as you prefer. But what kind of fountain will best serve you will depend on several factors it is important to take into consideration before buying a fountain.

If you have a place in mind for your fountain you need to think about how that place is used. A room in which there is frequent or prolonged conversation is not the best place for a drip type of fountain which will be constantly competing for your attention. A bubble-up type is a much better choice for this kind of location. It can be made audible or silent, as you prefer.

An entry or passageway is a great place for a dramatic fountain. The sight and sounds of falling water is welcoming and will be appreciated and enjoyed as people come and go. All our fountains have adjustable pumps so you can vary the display to suit different occasions if desirable.

Another good place for a fountain with falling water is a room adjacent to where you spend a lot of time. It will make a pleasurable background sound which you can focus on or not, as you prefer. A dining room can be a good place for a fountain if it adjoins other rooms that are used. The fountain will be heard from the nearby rooms but will not be intrusive. You may want to turn it down or off while dining but if you have chosen the right fountain, the lovely sound will be an enhancement.

Bubble-up fountains are good just about anywhere. They make a different sound from the falling water type - more like a gentle brook running over rounded stones and they can be turned down, or filled with water so that the bubble-up becomes completely silent.

Some people like to put a fountain or two in their bedroom to help mask other, less pleasant unsolicited sounds. They focus on the soothing sound of water and stop hearing the other noises. The bedroom though is not a good place for a fountain if the sound of it makes you want to use the bathroom, however. (This unlikely to occur with the bubble-up type.

Another excellent place for a fountain in mild weather or temperate climates is the patio or deck. The sight and sound of water outside is wonderful and a fountain is an extremely easy, inexpensive and low maintenance method of providing it.
